Hilton Head has numerous courses to suit golfers of every skill level and ability. The Country Club of Hilton Head offers interesting doglegs with undulating, tiered greens and two par 5's stretching more than 575 yards. This semi private Reese Jones course is not to be missed. Golfers seeking a challenge will enjoy Arnold Palmer's Crescent Pointe surrounded by huge oaks and beautiful magnolias. One of our favorites, the Old South Golf links, offers a fun and exciting golfing experience. When you reach the 10th hole, the Robert Trent Jones course has a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean, so make sure you bring your camera. Other Hilton Head golf courses are certainly worth a round. Hilton Head National has been named one of "America's Best Golf Courses." The National is a well designed and well kept course offering excellent service, this is a “must play” for golfers visiting Hilton Head.
Harbour Town Golf Links is the site of the annual PGA Heritage Tournament, first played in 1969. The tournament is aptly named, as Hilton Head has a rich and remarkable golf history. In 1969, Arnold Palmer ended a 14-month winless streak with a victory at the inaugural Heritage Classic. Shortly thereafter, Palmer was recognized as "Athlete of the Decade," bringing instant recognition to the new course and putting Hilton Head on the map as one the world's top golf destinations. Moreover, Hilton Head golf developments were at the forefront of progressive land-use planning and eco-sensitive development in the United States.
